Tenth Week of Fitmas – Ten Kettlebells Swinging

Kettlebells for Fitmas!

Everyone has a favorite style of training. I personally hate functional training, but there is something about kettlebell training that I love. It leans towards the functional style of training but you are still moving weight and burning those pesky calories that make your pants tight.

Kettlebell training is a ton of fun and this week we are going to have three times the fun. I also get to give away an amazing, I mean uh-MAY-zing, prize from Sport Chek.

Pick me up and swing me around!

Ten Kettlebells swinging.

Why train with kettlebells?

By their nature, typical kettlebell exercises build strength and endurance, particularly in the lower back, legs, and shoulders, and increase grip strength. The basic movements, such as the swing, snatch, and the clean and jerk, engage the entire body at once, and in a way that mimics real world activities.

Sport Chek has an awesome approach to fitness that I admire. It isn’t about striving to become someone else, it is about becoming the best YOU possible.

  9. I just discovered your blog yesterday – and I am in very poor shape right now – so kettleballs are out for now. However, I was inspired to go out and walk the mall quickly. Two years ago, we spent two weeks in Italy for our honeymoon and we walked everywhere. I was stunned by how much that changed my body. And we ate like crazy! So walking it is for me now. And at the mall, because I don’t need to worry about the weather as an excuse – but I did discover today that I need to change my shoes! Slipping isn’t fun.
