Don’t Just Do It, Overcome It!

It takes guts to compete in bodybuilding.

I can’t tell you the the number of times I have had people say something like this to me:

“I wish I could compete, its just SO scary. I could never do it.”

The hardest part of a competition is not getting your body into shape, its getting your heart and mind into shape. I know from experience that seeing the best parts of yourself, both inside and out, and having a healthy view of them is not easy. Being able to say ‘I like me, all of me and I am not afraid of the world seeing me.’ is a glorious feeling.

It gives you wings to fly.

There are many people in the world who are in ‘competition shape‘ but would never, ever even entertain the idea of competing. Standing on a stage in a very small suit is not the be all end all, but it does build more self confidence than almost any other thing you could do in life.

Whenever I start to panic about something I am about to do, I remember how ‘scary‘ it was to stand on that stage next to other women and be compared side by side.

Then I remember how it feels to fly.

If I can fly wearing a small, bedazzled bikini and 5 inch tall stripper shoes, this too can be done.

More than done, it can be overcome!

What are you waiting for?
