Fact – I don’t eat sugar or sweeteners.
This is fine most of the time, except when I am desperately craving something like jam on my toast.
My mind made a huge leap today.
Isn’t jam just smooshed up fruit with sugar and gelatin added in?
- Why, yes it is!!
Does ‘jam’ have to come out of a jar?
- Why, no it doesn’t!
Couldn’t I just put berries on my toast and almond butter?
- Yeeessss!!!
Time to break some rules!
Simply take a slice of the best bread on the planet, toast it, slather on a tablespoon of nut butter, and slice some berries and then load them on top.
Try not to eat it all at once.
No one was home, so I threw all the manners out the window and chowed down like a true competitor!
Check your teeth, er face, when you’re done.
The eating got a bit rambunctious at my house this morning….
Plain and simple sometimes works and tastes best!
I can’t wait to find some raspberries and blackberries at a decent price and give those a go next. Mmmm!
You are adorable. And hilarious. When my cousin and I were smaller we totally thought jam was just mushed up berries. So we ran down the street, picked a ridiculous amount of blackberries, mushed them up and put them on our peanut butter sandwiches. Genius!
Why thank you. 🙂 From the mouth of babes! Jam is just smooshed up fruit…such a revelation for me today. 🙂
Yum!
Mmmm looks delish! I also sometimes just “warm” my berries on the stove top with a tsp of water so they release their own juices, then you’ve got an even bigger mess on your hands! 🙂
Jam is a wonderful thing…
Its just as yummy to do with a tbsp of dark choco chips! yummmmy!
Mmm!! I am going to have to give that a try…perhaps tomorrow!
MMM, sounds so good. Why didn’t I ever think of that!!
Did it! Mashed the ripe strawberries first, then applied on top of peanut butter and bread. YUM! You are a genius, woman!
Mmm! And no sugar!! Yay!!
