I’m a Blogaholic

I read a lot of blogs. I am possibly a ‘blogaholic‘. I find myself reading one blog, linking to another, and another, and then another….and yet another.

Sometimes an hour and a whole bodum of coffee goes by before I know what happened.

My ‘blogaholicness’ led me to read this today.

“Never compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.”

I’m taking it one step further.

“Never compare your beginning to someone else’s middle, end, or yet to start.”

Comparing yourself to someone further down the line makes you that sad, sorry, muscle bemoaning Figure Competitor that no one wants to hang out with.

Comparing yourself to someone that is about to start or has yet to start makes you that haughty, proud, and annoying fit chick that ever girl wants to beat to death with a celery stick.

Be you. Fully, proudly, and confidently you.

Comparing yourself to you makes you that sure, steady, and loveable competitor that knows how to laugh, sees the best in herself and the people around her, and lives life as fully as it is mean to be lived.

Where you are is exactly were you should be.

You are my first blogger to read and I really look forward to your blogs everyday !!!

  3. Wow. This hit home for me today, I have been training for my first figure comp for the last eight months and had to make the hard decision a few days ago to pass it up and keep training for the future. I have been so down and have probably compared myself to others a little too much 🙂

Thank you for helping me snap out of it. I am exactly where I should be and will compete when the time is right.

  6. Great post. I’ve been working hard to just be my personal best. I’m learning to embrace that it may be a long journey, and I need to be patient. I’m learning…that’s all I can do 🙂

I love your blog. It always leaves me thinking.

This is the #1 thing I learned during my contest prep this year. 🙂

Yes! It is a hard lesson to learn, but it is SO IMPORTANT. Comparing yourself to yourself is really the only comparison that matters.
