Chantelle Leads The Way!

‘Tis the season for competitions!

Last weekend the very first Bikini Or Bust Competitors made their mark in the world and rocked the stage like nobody’s business. Both Chantelle and Lisa did absolutely amazing last weekend; here is more about Chantelle’s experience at her first competition.

Poise, confidence, and MUSCLES! Woot!

What did you learn about yourself from prepping for this show?

I learned so much I can’t even remember it all. lol The first and best thing I learned was that I’m an emotional eater and once I started to pay attention to the triggers I learned how to go about dealing with them without food. I also learned that I like structured eating. I like eating the same thing over and over because I’m not left to figure it out on my own or let my emotions figure it out for me.

What did you do that led to your success?

The #1 thing that lead to my success was believing in myself. Though at times it seemed nearly impossible to do, it made the biggest impact on my ability to do everything.

What was the hardest thing to overcome during prep?

The hardest thing to overcome during this prep was that I was not going to look like the other girls in my group. I’m still not sure I’m over it. It’s hard for me to not be a perfectionist. I want to do things right the first time and blow everyone out of the water! lol

How do you feel about the competition?

I feel this competition was a FANTASTIC learning experience and a great break into the industry. Sure I may have been better suited for bikini but people can look back and see the progress I’ve made over the years in the same catagory.

What was your first ‘bad for you’ food that you ate when you were done?

I actually ate a few bad for me things during the day a.k.a chocolate bars. lol But I had to wait until Sunday to have my post comp meal which consisted of pizza, red wine, and chocolate torte!

What wouldn’t you change?

I wouldn’t change the decision I made to do this competition. Not at all. This was the best thing I have ever done.

It seems like Chantelle may have gotten the competition bug. Watch for her next year as she continues to make her mark in the world of Figure!

I am so proud of this girl and all her success. Her prep was marked with perseverance, growth, and joy.

  1. I feel like I’m going to be able to say most of those things when my comp is said and done as well. We’ve all got to start somewhere, right? However, I’m not waiting until the next day to have my post-comp meal of peanut butter, ice cream, carrot cake, rice crispy treats and chocolate chip cookies. Wow.. listing those out like that makes me feel like I may have some sort of issues. haha.

    • It’s funny because when you can actually have those things they either a. won’t taste nearly as good as you dreamed they would or b. you don’t want them. Trust me! =)

    • I totally hear you on that! I have already packed my bag with the food I will eat right after the show – I also have my week-after meal plan, with scheduled cheats! yummmm – listing the foods makes me feel better haha

  2. YAY Chantelle!! I think you did awesome and I think you looked perfect!

  4. So proud of you Chantelle!!!
