Yesterday I was asked a funny question.
“Can this be the same woman that wore all her clothes in a tanning booth?!!?!”
My first response was a resounding, “No, of course not!” After some self reflection, I realized that the answer is yes. Yes, it is the same woman, she just finally believes in herself, decided to go somewhere, and find out who she was made to be. It is true that at one point in my life I was so insecure with myself that I couldn’t even go in a tanning bed without all my clothes on. That same woman walked a stage in a bedazzled suit and 5 inch heels on top of the world.
It’s hard to know if you’ve arrived if you don’t know where you are or where you want to go. The fabulously driven, inspirational, and brave Bikini or Bust Competitors will know when they have arrived. They are setting audacious goals to ensure success.
Without further ado, here is how they are going to kick some Figure arse this spring!

Goals
- Would like to inspire myself, inspire others, do something I have never done before!
- Learn how my body responds by all of this jacked up training that I love. I have never been below 18% so this will be a journey!
- Build a new network of friends with similar goals and lifestyles
- Get a 6 pack and keep it!

- BF% – no idea; but I’m going to find out!
Goals
- Strength that will translate into endurance and improved performance in the other sports I love like running and biking.
- Get in *the* best shape of my life.
- See what my muscles look like.
- Prove to myself that I can push through discomfort and doubt. I want to continue to evolve.
- Show that you can have shorter hair, fair skin, be 40, and stand on a stage and be completely awesome.
- Learn to control my cravings.
- Learn all the different weight lifting lingo (all the kinds of squats and lifts and sets and such). I want to learn proper form for lifting.
- Learn how other women balance serious fitness and good nutrition in their busy lives, as a way of life.
- Do one perfect wide-grip pull-up from a dead hang (just one, is that too much to ask? *shakes fist at the sky*).
- Have a six pack.
- Improve my glutes (operation less butt jiggle) and get better definition in my legs.

I complained about my body so much and it affected my life, it affected my confidence and I’m finally done with it! COMMITTING to go on stage in a bikini is just the thing I needed to get myself where I want to be.

Current Stats: 5′ 6″, 145lbs
Goals
- Prove to myself that I CAN COMMIT! Commit to a healthy lifestyle, commit to the body that I want and commit to my goals.
- Achieve confidence, both with my inside as well as my outside!
- Learn how to motivate myself and my children to lead healthy lifestyles.
- Learn how to cook actual meals using ACTUAL food that will taste good and my family will want to eat.
- Teach my children how to be healthy so they never have to struggle with weight issues or nutrition issues.
- See 130 pounds!!! And grow my hair out!! I chopped it all off after I have my beautiful daughter 17 months ago and I just want my long hair back. 🙂

I have always wanted to compete partly because I just think it’s awesome and also so I can gain the knowledge of how to get my body where I want it. In this journey I want to learn how to *live* extreme-health so that I can maintain optimal fitness.

- Reprogram my brain to make time for good sleep as a way of life (no more crash and burn)

- Get back to my contest weight of 130 to compete and then stabilize my weight somewhere around 140-145 for an everyday

- Feel comfortable in my skin and confident on stage.
- Place in the top three.
- Learn what to make with quinoa.
- Find a kick arse low car muffin recipe.
- Do 10 wide grip pull-ups
- Have an entire 6 pack without having to blow every bit of air out of my tummy.
- 8% body fat on stage with 56 kg of muscle

My goals are to compete in 2 figure competitions (and finish in the top 3!), deadlift 2 times my bodyweight, be able to do 10 unassisted pullups, fall in love with running, drop 10 pounds, and learn to love cottage cheese 🙂 2011 should prove to be an interesting year!
