Training for a Figure Competition has kind of taken over my life, but, I can’t let it take over EVERY part of my life!
I love shoes, purses, and accessories. They are fabulous because they fit all the time, no matter what size you are, and they always add panache to the day. Every woman needs at least a smidgen of panache each day.
That being said, I refuse to carry around large, ugly, utilitarian purses to house my Figure Competition training supplies. This is where I draw the line.
I keep make sure to have my splash of panache every day.
But I also make sure to have what I need with me.
There are many odd things that are in the purse of a Figure Competitor….things that most women would never think about putting in their purse. Sure, I have all the normal things like a wallet, lip gloss, pens, spare earrings, keys, and business cards…but I also have weird things.
- Food Journal
- Protein drink
- iPod and headphones
- YMCA membership card
- Creatine, BCAAs, Omega 3’s, Calcium, Glutamine, Iron, and a daily vitamin
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
And then there are some normal things that I don’t have in my purse.
It is my last month of training, so I am not consuming any artificial sweeteners. None at all. It may trigger an insulin response resulting in minor weight retention. I am fighting the battle of my life against a very stubborn muffin top. I will do whatever it takes to be victorious; even if it means hauling around a toothbrush and toothpaste to ensure I have a fresh, minty taste in my mouth and don’t succumb to the pressures of mints and gum!
If you’re a Figure Competitor, what weird things do you haul around in your purse? I am so curious!
Phew, I thought one of those things was a “bathroom on the go.” Seriously, I knew someone who carried one in their purse.
That said, that’s still a lot of stuff to cart around to help stay in shape.
I don’t carry a purse but I have a backpack since I go most places on my motorcycle and don’t always spend every day at home. It carries extra clothes and some rain gear… allergy meds… water or an energy drink… a pen and paper for comics and ideas. Sometimes I carry film stuff with me.
Ha! I have carried chicken breast, almonds, tuna too!! LOL! 🙂
I call those my purse snacks! Always funny to pull out some almonds or a rice cake and a tablespoon of peanut butter and start munching away in the middle of a meeting or something equally ridiculous. Luckily the people in my life have come to expect the ridiculous from me.
I carry an ugly ol back pack. I have my water bottle, towel, timer, fat burners, notebook, pen, exercise band. I have been know to carry around chicken, steak, broccoli too.
Great idea about the toothpaste! I dont “do” chewing gum as I find it just makes me hungrier, but the toothpaste might work 🙂
Along with the usual suspects, I also have a camera, tape measure and calipers (dont ask) lol.
Gosh you havent got long now! Ive got 17 more sleeps till showtime .. although ours is a little different on this side of the world, our figure rounds involve posing and doing routines to music .. but we get to wear blingey bikinis like yours 🙂
Come nosey at my blog sometime. http://www.femininefitness.co.nz
Nosey I shall do RIGHT NOW! 😉
I had no idea that sugar free gum could cause water retention! I don’t actually use a lot of artificial sweetener, but I do love gum. I wonder if Stevia has the same affect on the body.
Actually the fake sugars may trick your body into thinking you are about to give it sugar and cause your insulin to go up, which in turn may cause it to store fat because the insulin had nothing to burn off. 🙂
