Sucker Punch to the Kidneys: My Muffin Top Has Grown!

So much hard work, and NOT the results I was looking for.

I was so upset that written words just wouldn’t do….

    Donloree, you are so amazing. Our bodies sometimes get tired and take a restbit and then our minds have to stagger and catch up. Don’t get discouraged. Life is a series of peaks and valleys and you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Hang in there.

    Hey! Keep your chin up! If you are having skinfolds taken with calipers there is always a degree/chance of tester error in regards to landmarking, pinching the skin etc. For example, if you saw a decrease the week before and then an increase it could be due to error of the measurement. To determine if there has been a significant change either way, the values need to lie outside the margin of error that is normal with taking these measurements. As well, I am not sure taking skinfolds is that sensitive of a measure that you would be able to see changes after only one week. (Though other than taking a DEXA each week I am not sure there is any better way). Any calculation of body fat % is determined from equations that are based on cadavers, so it is an indirect measure and may be inaccurate by +/- 10 %. Lastly, remember the measurements are in millimeters!!!

  5. You are so awesome. You say exactly whatever body is going through that isn’t said. I have been on a diet and training regiment for 6 weeks and have not lost a single pound. I actually went up 2 the 1st week and have spent the last 5 getting rid of them. I have noticed a body fat loss and a muscle build so something is going on, it’s just not happening on the scale. Keep up the great work and I am positive it will all come together in the end.
