The World Needs You To Stop Being BORING!

Have you ever fallen into the trap of trying to be just like someone else?

Phew! I am not alone.

Trying to be just like someone else is stressful, annoying, and rather boring for the rest of the world.

My fabulous friend Tenecia sent me this video which made me laugh, say, ‘Oh my gracious, YES!’ to my computer screen, and smile for about an hour after watching.

Just because you could do something, it doesn’t mean you should. Options are great, but if you aren’t living out your specific purpose in the world and using your gifts, it won’t bring you or the world life. In fact it will cause everyone involved to die in a painfully slow and very boring way.

My joy and passion in life is helping people figure out what they want and how to get it.

Plain and simple.

Just last week I realized how often I get sucked into other people’s definitions of success. How often I get sucked into the lie that its better to be safe and boring than to be my crazy, rather ridiculous self.

  • So what if I am the woman who spills her water all over the boardroom table because she talks with her hands and is so excited?
  • Or who makes friends with old ladies in the grocery store line up?
  • Or helps people see how fabulous they truly are even if it is the man at the table next to her in Starbucks?

There is only one me. Only one you.

You’ve got air coming through your nose, you’ve got a heartbeat – it means it is time to DO SOMETHING! It is both of our responsibility to create something that will make the world awesome.

Now go be amazing!

  1. Crazy and ridiculous is so much more fun than safe and boring!

  2. Makes me think of one of my favorite movie lines written by John Hughes,

“And in the end, what I was looking for was not to be found, but to be created.”

I think about that every single day of my life. Some days I even try to live it…
