You have found muscles you didn’t know you have, nearly died while doing tabata sprints, and embraced Crossfit during the last month of Fitmas. If you are anything like me, you have kept the DOMS to yourself.
Its time to invite a friend to join in with you.
Oftentimes, we fall into the trap of training by ourselves and complaining that we don’t have time for friends and to be fit. Pfft! Who says you can’t bring your friends along on a near death adventure?
This week’s Fitmas challenge comes from Fit Familiez, an organization focussed on supporting the whole family to be fit.
Maria is a woman of vision, determination, and inspiration who doesn’t take no for an answer. Just ask her, there are excuses but no real ones to not be healthy and fit, no matter what you have going on in your life or if you have kids or not.
Five by Fives.
Grab a friend, warm up well, and then get your sweat on. Complete 5 sets of the 5 exercises (30 seconds for each exercise) with a 90 second to two minute rest between sets. This challenge doesn’t require a gym, just a good attitude and a timer.
If you still have something left, go for a 20-30 minute brisk outdoor run or walk in this glorious fall weather and enjoy each other’s company. Don’t forget to stretch and even foam roll when you’re done.
**To make it competitive keep track of who is able to do more exercises in each set. The winner has to buy the other coffee when you’re done!
